Butler Institute of American Art
The Butler Institute of American Art is located on the campus of Youngstown State University, in Youngstown. It was dedicated in 1919, becoming the first Museum of American Art in the United States. The museum, located in the Beecher Center, showcases over 20,000 pieces of art, created by Americans. The Beecher Center also houses a collection of electronic art that utilizes computers and digital media.
Schedule plenty of time to stroll through the museum. With free admission, visit as often as you like. The Butler Museum offers two additional satellite museum locations in Salem and Trumball.
