Visiting Cincinnati & Southern Ohio
You’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy a fall or winter visit to Cincinnati. Top-flight attractions, an impressive events schedule, and welcoming locals from downtown Cincinnati to area suburbs like Mason and Oxford mean you’ll no doubt create long-lasting memories. Pack your scarf, a decent pair of gloves and prepare for a winter tour of southern Ohio.
As you plan your tour of Cincinnati be sure to include some of the premier attractions in the area to your agenda. Don’t miss the American Classical Music Hall of Fame, and the campus at the University of Cincinnati will yield a truly informative tour, ideal for those shopping around for college options.
The University of Cincinnati, while yielding excellent campus tours, will be on full display this fall for another reason – college football. Cincinnati and nearby suburbs like Monroe and Harrison are crazy about their Bearcats football during the fall. Make your way to Nippert Stadium and check out any of the impressive matchups the Bearcats will face during their 2016 campaign.
On October 22nd you can help the Cincinnati Bearcats celebrate homecoming when they take on the East Carolina Pirates. November 5th the BYU Cougars will be in town, and the Bearcats have their final home game of 2016 on November 18th when the Memphis Tigers visit for an 8 p.m. showdown.
The football action in southern Ohio doesn’t end with the Bearcats. Fans of the NFL know this to be Bengals territory. Visit Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals, throughout the fall and into winter to catch an exciting NFL matchup. On November 20th the Bengals will host the Buffalo Bills at 1 p.m., December 18th will see the Pittsburgh Steelers visit Paul Brown Stadium, and the Bengals round out their year with a home game against the Baltimore Ravens on New Year’s Day.
Oxford is one of the premier Cincinnati suburbs, and should most certainly be one of your southern Ohio destinations. As you explore Oxford, be sure to check out Miami University – also known as Miami of Ohio.
Winter in southern Ohio will mean ice hockey is back on the docket. Visit the Goggin Ice Center in Oxford in late 2016 or early 2017 for your chance to see the Miami of Ohio Redhawks hit the ice. On January 27th and 28th they’ll take on Western Michigan, and on February 17th and 18th they’ll face the University of Denver.
