Bowling Green State University

Opened in 1928, Bowling Green State University is a 1,338-acre research university located in Bowling Green, with an additional campus located in Huron. The university was established in 1910 as Bowling Green State Normal School and the first students were enrolled in 1914.

The university has eight colleges offering 200 undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs for its 20,000 students. When students aren't hitting the books, they're cheering on the Bowling Green Falcons, whom compete in the Mid-Atlantic Conference.

Fallen Timbers Battlefield & Fort Miamis NHS

Found along the Maumee River in northwest Ohio, the Fallen Timbers Battlefield and Fort Miamis National Historic Site stands to preserve the military history of the region. The Fallen Timbers site centers around the Fallen Timbers Monument and Fallen Timbers Battlefield – complete with bronze statue, stone memorials, and Turkeyfoot Rock.

Just several miles north on River Road in Maumee, Fort Miamis – a former British Fort constructed in 1794 – is also open to the public. Visitors can view actual earthworks used to build the fort, as well as archeological remains still being used for study. Both sites are conveniently located just a short drive north of Bowling Green.

Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center

The nation’s first presidential library, the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center is located in the northwestern Ohio city of Fremont. Completed in 1916, the center commemorates 19th President Rutherford B. Hayes.

Originally the Rutherford B. Hayes Center Library, the center is a complex covering 52,640 square feet – consisting of the Hayes Home and Hayes Museum. Set at Spiegel Grove, the center features tours, shopping, and the Hayes Research Library.

The Glass Bowl

Built in 1936 by the Works Progress Administration, the Glass Bowl is the home field to the University of Toledo Rockets football team.

The stadium, originally known as University Stadium, seats over 26,000 fans on game day.

A staple of the communities around Toledo, fans frequently flock to the Glass Bowl to catch the Rockets take on Mid-American Conference foes, like Bowling Green and Navy.

Showcasing its versatility, the stadium is also used for commencement ceremonies, concerts, and other large northwest Ohio events.

Covering 2,345 acres, TOL features two runways, and is home to the Ohio Air National Guard's 180th Fighter Wing. TOL is served by AmericanConnection and Allegiant Air, plus cargo services like Northern Air Cargo and DHL.
